Description

Our natural juniper berry hydrolate for detergents comes from a plant of the species Juniperus communis. The distillate is known under the name Juniper Berry natural hydrolate for detergents. Botanical classification assigns the species to the Cupressaceae family. Only the ripe fruits are suitable as raw material, and in the female cone the scales fuse tightly together, forming a fleshy mass of uniform appearance. At first the cones tend toward a reddish hue, while the ripe ones turn blue-black with a dense waxy bloom on the surface. The trees in Bulgaria are tended naturally without synthetic agents. The ripe, unfermented fruits undergo steam distillation, which keeps the aroma away from solvents, while the volatile part remains entirely of plant origin. The oxygenated volatile compounds enter the aqueous phase, and it is precisely they that carry the aromatic direction of the finished distillate. The aroma has a strong intensity. The fresh, piney direction ends with a resinous accent. Monoterpene hydrocarbons dominate the volatile fraction, with pinene, myrcene and sabinene being the most common among them. The product is a clear liquid, and its color ranges from colorless to pale yellow. The fruit part as raw material accounts for the faint color, because mainly colorless substances pass into the water, while the pigments are retained in the cone itself. The natural composition contains no preservatives or colorants. In addition, natural cultivation and the narrowly defined choice of fruit determine a liquid whose composition comes down to plant volatile substances and water. The strong scent, the clear liquid and the faint color complete the appearance of the juniper distillate.

Storage

Store natural juniper berry hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for detergent products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for detergents from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
